Highland Capital Brokerage

Highland Capital Brokerage in Birmingham was a dream job. I really loved it there. I had a supportive, innovative boss. I had a partner in crime in the form of a brilliant young designer (who now runs the show). I'd probably still be there if I hadn't wanted to come and do this thing. We built the corporate communications department from the ground up, produced a tremendous volume of work, and we rebranded the company, TWICE.

The first rebranding effort came about because HCB's parent company told us we had to come into line with their new branding standards. The second happened when we left the parent company and had to hit reset on everything. The end result was the logo you see here and it is, to this day, one of the design projects I am most proud of. It was a truly collaborative project and when I look at it, I can't tell where my ideas end and Lauren's begin. That's what you want when you're on a team.
